NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month

Where will you be posting your NaBloPoMo entries?

I am just wondering, who will be posting their NaNoBloPoMo entries here and who is going to post them on their "other/personal" blog?"

Good Luck - two novels in the works at the same time - that is ambitious. Best of luck. I start toward my Masters in Creative Writing next summer. I can't wait - till then I am just writing good, bad, whatever. What genre are your novels?

I was thinking I would do that too. I don't want to neglect my blog.

Anyway, I'm here:

I guess this is a place for people to write if they don't already have an established blog. It's also a community, while Blogspot is not. You can find writing prompts and others interested in similar things.

I think I am just going to post here when each blog entry is done.

I'll be posting to 12frogs, my "regular" blog -- doing the tumblelog wouldn't get at the writing I want to do, and I can't read fast enough to post that often on my book review blog!

I think I will end up posting to my personal blog (http://writinginwax.blogspot.com) instead of posting directly here. Perhaps I'll end up x-posting, but I doubt I'll remember to do it. I'll try, though.

I'll be posting mine on my personal website, www.raxxq.com, which is where my blog normally lives. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do it any other way (to me), but I would love to hear some other people's thoughts on the matter.

I'm going to be posting at my blog. I'm not duplicating posts here because my NaBloPoMo profile has my link and my RSS feed in the sidebar.

I'm going to try to pretend posting every day is a totally normal occurrence and avoid talking about NBPM in my daily posts - other than linking, I think. I have the randomizer button at the end of today's post. If I want to talk specifically about NBPM participation, I'll use my NBPM blog.

I'm probably not supposed to make an acronym out of that, but I am a rebel.

Can you explain how the profile and RSS link work? Does it cross post? Thanks!

Log into NaBloPoMo. Go to "My Page". Scroll down the page, looking for "RSS" in the left sidebar. (You'll see "Music" and "Photos" and stuff like that, too.) Click on "Edit". Fill out the little form, inserting your blog's RSS feed. If you're not sure what that address is, go to your blog and click the little orange icon in the URL bar in Firefox.

You can choose if you want just the titles of your blog posts to show, or the title and first few lines. You can also choose how many posts you'd like to display. When I post on my regular blog, the title and first few lines show up in my NaBloPoMo profile's sidebar.

To see what it looks like in action, visit my page. Hope this helps!

Wait. I found something better.

boogiemum created a widget at Spring Widgets. If you visit either boogiemum's or my profile, you can view the widget and click "Get This Widget!" Edit the information to include your RSS feed and change the color and size. Click the button with the "h" on it to get the html code, copy and paste the code into your NaBloPoMo box. (It's right under your activity and above your friends in the middle of your page.)

I'll leave the RSS in my sidebar for a while so you can see how each looks, but I think I'll be sticking with the widget.

Hey thanks so much for your help. I got the widget on my page but for some reason it does not seem to be updating. Maybe there is a delay but I have to stop my fussing with it for now. You have been an great help thanks!
