Am I the only one that stalks my own site regularly to see if I got a comment from one of my faithful readers? Or do you not have the time for such nonsense. ...just checkin' to see if I'm normal or a weird-o. [insert nervous laugh here]

Yes. I stalk my own site DESPITE the fact that I don't have time to do so. This explains why I'm still up at midnight when I have to wake up in less than six hours. I don't even GET that many comments, I just live on the hope that maybe someday I will.

Ahh, yes. Such a dreamer.

"stalking" is such an ugly term.... I prefer to use "monitoring"....

Ok - fine, I stalk my site! :-)

Closely monitoring? Today I'm caught between excitement (I got another comment!) and sadness (my feed subscribers are still down from the big peak two weeks ago). But you have to know which posts are big hits, right? So you have to check your stats at least every couple of days or you won't know what "the people" want. Yeah, that makes sense. I'm going with that explanation.

LOL.... yes I like that word better. "monitoring"

Not quite. I stalk my e-mail inbox, which receives notifications of comments\.

So, yes, I'm guilty as charged. :)

I TOTALLY agree with Jonathan! I am always checking the stats and I DO try those searches myself! LOL

I find myself sad when I have only had a visitor or two in the previous hour. It's a sickness, I'm convinced!
By the way, please check out my blog. Do me that favor so I can see a jump in my stats this afternoon! LOL

I've been stalking all my blogs all day.... I guess it's sad... I've had a busy few weeks and I'm enjoying some down time... not that I have it to enjoy, I'm kind of taking it :)

I do, but it's generally a disappointment. For whatever reason, I don't get many comments, even when I shamelessly beg for them in my posts. I guess because I write mostly about books, and if you haven't read what I'm reading, there's not much to say, maybe? But I do like my stats. I even get excited whenever I pass a "milestone": my thousandth visit or whatever. I try to ignore the fact that I'm probably my own best visitor!

I wouldn't go straight to "stalking" - LOL - but I am really fascinated with the whole psychology of blogging, so I do look at my Sitemeter readings and see where people are coming from, what search phrases brought them, what referrals, etc. It is such an interesting medium!

And I also get notified when I have comments, and I love the banter, so I do like to go back and chat!

Very fun stuff.

oh, you know it. i'm hosted on wordpress, and they have this uber-nifty little graph that you can use to check your site visits, right alongside that mysterious search terms. and the searches that some people have used to find my blog are **really weird**, so trust me, just looking at a little graph isn't what makes you nutso.

i haven't yet started doing those same searches myself, but after reading this, that might all change...

I compulsively check to see if the 3 readers I have posted a comment! It's really the addictive part of blogging for me.

Well I guess, bloggers are all the same, where ever they are!
It sure feels good to know that I'm not different than any of you ....
