Juggling isn't always good juggling you know -- we tend to drop a few objects during the process. For me, it's housework. I loathe housework. Thankfully, my husband doesn't mind doing most of it.

What do you do from home?

Nice to meet you, too!

I'm kind of nerdy, too. I advise students on how to write their papers better.

Hi there!

It's great to finally meet other WAHM's :)

I too often find myself with much in the air, and not enough hands to manage it all. The seesaw effect is alive and well in our house- concentrate on work, and my daughter suffers, or concentrate on quality time with my daughter, and my work suffers. It's a constant balancing act....anyone have any tips on how to level the scales?

I joined too although I'm not a WAHM... yet! Right now I am a WAHpregnant woman who will be a WAHM eventually. I'm due in April and thought it might be nice to read about how other women deal with the juggling act - I already ignore the housework.

I'm a freelance writer too who mostly works for a website. :)

Melanie - Congratulations on your pregnancy! This is such a great time in a woman's life, and I have such fond memories of all 3 of my pregnancies. Except for the time I barfed and peed myself in my own driveway. We can laugh about it now. Please feel free to ask any questions as they come up. Those of us who are elbow-deep in WAHMing will no doubt be happy to help.

Thanks Toni - I can't believe you barfed and pee'd in your driveway! I've been really lucky with morning sickness (hardly had any) so I'm probably having a satan child or something to make up for it.

It is a juggling act and I'm not sure how to balance it either. I think that it's difficult because of the flexibility that work at home provides. You can spend more time with your kids, but work is also ever-present. I, at least, just can leave it at the office.

Another geek here...I work for a company building online courses and materials.

Hi,
another geek here. I'm on my computer every minute when I'm not cooking, making dinner or taking care of the kids. I own a children's online store and a couple of blogs.

hi everyone,
just joined, and i must say--love the fine fashion eyewear i see in some of the profile pictures! :) i don't have a good photo of me in my glasses or i'd post it.

i work at home on my indie documentary (about the filipino origins of the yo-yo). and my son is 4.

i'm convinced the key to productivity is preschool for the kid, and being born without a martha stewart gene for the mama!

cheers,
cynematic

Yeah! I love my glasses :) I used to wear contacts all the time, now I don't even remember when was the last time I wrote them. One of the good things at working at home is that you can wear anythng you want.. :)

My glasses are Prada, and me too, I like Melanie's too, they look really good on you!

Wow! I tried on all sorts of Prada ones when I finally got these (they're ProDesign) and found nothing that looked even remotely that good! I used to wear contacts all the time, but now it's just glasses for me as well.

And yes...I'm also missing the Martha Stewart gene, Cynematic!

I used to wear contacts all the time - but now they bother my eyes and so I'm rarely seen with out my glasses on. I don't know what kind mine are - nothing too fancy. I do hope to get the surgery someday though (my Mum had it) just because my eye sight is REALLY terrible. And yes, working from home certainly helps keep the wardrobe costs down - most days I don't get dressed until I have to.
