i meant to add, congratulations on the bun in the oven, melanie o! if i read correctly, jenna's expecting too, right?

@ katja, melanie & suz: isn't it satisfying to splash out and get a nice pair of glasses, but then enjoy lounging around the house in a raggy pair of sweats and an old t-shirt?

will be back to check out everyone's blogs later...it's almost time for the changing of the guard, when Hop on Pop comes home from school.

Wow, congrats on all the pregnant ladies! Awesome!

Yes... I spend money on ski gear, my car, espresso machine and the glasses, but to be honest, I don't buy any clothes for me... Only places I go are kids' school yard, grocery store and post office.. I write about shopping, and I was a personal shopper for a few years, and now I am so happy just not to get dressed everyday :) At the moment I wouldn't even want to go shopping for clothes for me.

Mine are Vogue and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I wasn't sure I was trendy enough to pull them off, but they work for me and I get tons of compliments. :)

Sarah....How did you do the video on your site? It's fantastic!

I wish that I could save money on clothes, but my problem is that I travel for business so actually need my suits about once a month or so. I like the balance of working at home but traveling occasionally and we're lucky to have a really decent nanny to take care of the twins. The problem is that it makes for a pretty full house some times!!

I actually bought a pair of glasses this year that aren't black frames - it was a big step for me. They are kind of goldy green and I get lots of compliments on them but they are also those prescription sun glasses that change when you go outside and I think they make me look like an old lady, thus I call them my "old lady glasses". I think one of the problem with wearing black frames all the time is that I think that is all people see: GLASSES.

My glasses are Prada too. I was checking out everyone's glasses and thinking about getting a new pair. I couldn't believe how dirt cheap they were AND they look good on me!

Hi, just joined yesterday. I'm Toni, a WAHM freelance writer (looks like there's several of us here). Getting lost in the groups and profiles here on Ning makes for wonderful procrastination fodder. Who, me, on deadline? I have a personal blog and am a flickr addict, and 3 boys who exhaust me. Potty training #3 today, joy.

Yes. Tell me about it. NaBloPoMo has been such a great distraction from all the work deadlines. A bit too effective at times :)

Wishing your boy tons of Potty Power Toni!

Thanks, Sandy! This whole thing is mega-addictive. And so far he's pooped on the floor once. Kill me now. I should set up a tote board. Or run away from home.

aww...hang in there! I don't blame you. I would have had my bags packed already.

I work from home as a technical writer -- I started up again when I was eight months pregnant (!!) with my second child (the job just fell into my lap)...

My kids are now 4 and 1 and it is not getting any easier. I keep thinking I am going to quit, but then I decide to hold out, with the hope that things will be more balanced, soon, right? Please tell me I'm right! LOL!

And yeah, I totally ignore the housework.

Don't even start about the housework...

I have to go to laundry room sometimes on school mornings hoping that I can find some clean clothes from the dryer for my kids... It's pretty embarrasing, especially because I sell kids' clothes. Luckily my husband helps a lot, but there is still just so much to do, and it's all off my work, of which I'm not making anything right now, just building and investing back every penny.

I have only one kid at home anymore, and he will start Kingergarten next year, I'm hoping that then I'll be more organized...
