I'm using the blogroll to keep track of who I have left comments for. Tonight I hit everyone on the line-up that starts with a character that isn't a letter of the alphabet (the first several on the list). There were three that I couldn't get to, but I have started chipping away.

Using the Blogroll is a great idea! I was just wondering how I'd keep track of the blogs I've encountered without having to look through the old comments to make sure I wasn't re-visiting w/o knowing. Hmm... Maybe I'll start at the end and work my way up. I just crunched the numbers and realized to get through all of them (as of 1630 PDT) I'd have to comment on 109 a day. Perhaps I won't get to all of them, but I'll at least try...

I agree it's too much to aim for. I'm setting my number way, way lower (I'll know at the end of tomorrow what it'll be) and hoping to go above and beyond that number. I work at a place that's... well, let's just say it's not very busy, so I'm hoping to get most of my commenting done there, leaving my evenings free to post to my blog. I'd love to steal your spreadsheet. :)
Well done! ;) I'm going to get started today as well.
Last year I had the blogroll in a spreadsheet so I could tick them off as I commented on them. I'll make another one and upload it in case anyone would like to use it. Keep an eye out here for the file, I'll put a post with the link as soon as I have created it.
It's doubtful I'll make it to every blog, but this commenting challenge is a great way to motivate myself to find new blogs to read through the NaBlo dealio. After blogging for so many years, I tend to get in a rut with my reading of new ones. I'm hoping this will shake that up a bit.
I'd use the radomizer, but it hates me. I think I'll go with the blogroll idea, too.
This is a great idea! Too bad I'm not on the blogroll yet. How long does it usually take to get added? I sent my request in the proper format on Friday.
