NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month

Ugh, I never noticed until NaBloPoMo, that my time is a day off in wordpress. If I post today, it puts down tomorrow's date. I went back and manually fixed a few posts, but how do I fix it for good? I went to my profile and it said something about UTC time? what is that? how do I get Colorado time?

Thanks.

hey Nicole, go hit up your dashboard on wordpress (it's a link at the top of the page when you're logged in...it's not there if you're not logged in), and then go to options. there you can change up the time to local.

Yes, and you have to enter the UTC time for CO, so you should enter a -7. I just did this tonight on mine too. :)

While you are at it - has one of you a clue how I can put my badge on the blog?

I am using a wordpress.com blog and it doesn't want the badge code in the widget, not on any page :(

Wordpress.com does not allow the badge type of code to be added - it just removes it after you paste it in. It's for security reasons, but still a bummer. You can add a text link in one of your widgets, but that would be all.

I just moved to a self-hosted wordpress blog, so I could have more control (for reasons such as this).

Thanks - I thought so. They must have tightened security a bit, or my Photo provider has changed the code, I can't post videos no more either :(

Which host do you use and how complicated is the move? Am thinking about it since a while myself.

I think they still accept YouTube videos, but I'm not sure.

It was actually not too bad to convert over to the self-hosted version. Easier than I thought. I had put it off for quite a while, and then I used a ThemeBuilder to completely brand my blog, which rocks.

This is my site:

I use 3essentials hosting, which is great if you want to run on a Windows platform (which is what I need, since I code in ASP).
