I'm new this year, too. I'm not sure if I fit this category or not, but I need community so I clicked on the button. Actually I was let go? kicked out? asked to leave a former "christian" group I was in. I think it was a HUGE misunderstanding. I slipped and used the word f**ktarded when speaking of some people's parenting skills. So I will understand if the answer is no here as well. Nice to meet ya'll.
Excellent. I am prone to the occasional bad word too. And I'm also new. I'm blogging about figuring out my call to ordained ministry, and I signed up because I thought it would encourage me to write. And one of my big hobby horses is that we all need community, so I'm very glad to be part of this one!
Hello, I think I've found 'home'. I first joined the 40s+ "Kick @$$ Forty and Beyond", but seeing some members pictures made me feel that maybe I'm older than I think :), on the way here I stopped by the "Virgos" to say hi and add my birth date, there was another Sept.7th there. No, I don't do horoscopes, but I've been known to use bad words occasionally too. I love honest people, that can be loving without pretending they're faultless. If we could be perfect, Jesus wouldn't have had to die for us. So thanks for starting this group, Elizabeth.
I use bad words occasionally too. It is so rare anymore that people stop to see what has upset me. I used to have a really bad mouth. i know we can not be perfect all the time. I hope people will accept me here too since I am so new at all this.
Getting to know each other some, maybe start a FRIENDLY discussion, care to share some of your background? Me, I grew up Roman Catholic, my parents are very devout believers. I married a Canadian who grew up in a traditional Anglican family. He's always been more interested in God, than the rest of his family. We consider ourselves non denominational Christians, attended a Baptist church while our kids were smaller, after moving, while they were in their early and mid teens, we started to attend an Alliance church in our new neighbourhood.
Anyone else?
I have been to all kinds of churches. After I was saved I have leaned to non-denominational. I currently attend a small congregation that considers themselves Pentecostal. I do not look at them as such. They are believers and they teach from God's Word and they teach truth. That is all I care about. I have a long testimony on both my blogs but the bottom line is that I can't and He can so I will strive to let Him.
