There are so many kids TV shows out there - a momma's gotta draw the line somewhere. What shows do you encourage your children to watch? What shows do you avoid?
Steve's my favorite! I've never heard of "Foster's Home". That sounds funny.
I love Little Bear. He's inquisitive and respectful - two qualities I love to see in my children. I also love Wow! Wow! Wubbzy, 'cause it's just fun. The Backyardigans sing well and have great songs for a kids' show.
I wish I'd never let him watch Curious George. Once, the monkey unrolled all of the toilet paper from the roll, and I can't get my son to stop.
I love Sesame Street. If that was the only show my 2 year-old watched I'd be happy. It's educational and I find it extremely entertaining. You never know who's going to pop up on Sesame Street.
We try to limit what are little guy watches, We're thinking of only letting him watch French shows, we're planning on putting him in French Emersion and we don't speak French so we want to start letting him get used to it. But we haven't been doing that yet,
Right now we let him watch 'Play with me Sesame', 'Sesame Street', Elmo's world, and the Backyardigans, there are a couple others like dora that we put on some times, but we're trying to limit his TV.
I avoid Barney, but not my wife, so he gets to sometimes.
I try to limit them to 1 1/2 hours of screen time per day. Try, being the operative word. Since #3 was born, they've been getting a lot more.
Just curious: why do you wish to put your child in a French Immersion school? There used to be a few here in Louisiana, mostly in the south (Cajun country). I don't know if they're still open.
Well there are a couple of reasons, the first is that I wish I would have tried harder to have learned a second language as a child and so I want to give my little guy a chance. Second is that it's offered by the public school board and the program in our area is better then the regular one.
In the Night Garden; I don't know if its made it across the pond, but it's from the same team as Teletubies - but with added shadows, trees, a stopmotion family of midgets, an underground dwelling stone stacker with OCD, inflatable tutus, and a sentient airship and train.
It's become the pre-bedtime-time viewing of choice here.
