Welcome to the Ministry of Silly Blogs

Thank you all for joining me in the pursuit of Silliness. I have (due to my own insanity) started an Official Ministry of Silly Blogs Blog, which will serve as a place for various Official Ministry Updates, Official Ministry Linkages, and other forms of Official Ministry Silliness.

Official Ministry Job Titles, will be made available to any who would like to have them. If you would like to choose a Job Title, you are welcome to. Otherwise, I may assign Job Titles to you Willy-Nilly. (Official Ministry Job Titles entail no Official Ministry Obligations, and also no Official Ministry Remuneration. However, if you prefer not to have an Official Ministry Job Title, please let me know by responding to this discussion.)

Do you know that I catch myself looking all around to make sure my cat's not around when I go look at that site? I don't even do it on purpose, it's more like a reflex. I feel like he'd just 'know' what I'm looking at and would shun me if he did. How silly is that exactly?

and yet even more silliness. had a discussion today with a colleague about a project her city-planner husband was working on involving some people arguing about cell phone towers not in their backyards. so wacky it became my blog post for today, apparently, they're now disguising neighborhood celly towers as foliage:

May I really call you silly?

To put buttons on wordpress, what I usually do is:
1. save the button (an image) to my computer
2. upload the image to my blog. Usually these means while I'm writing a post or a page. But once you've uploaded, you don't actually need to include the image in your post. If you click on "send to editor," you can then just cut the text out to get the link to where the image has been stored.
3. If I want to put the image in my sidebar, I go to "presentation" and then "sidebar widgets"
4. Add a text widget, or use an existing one
5. Paste the text with the link to the image/button file.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3. And then 4 and 5. But with some explanations about 2. It's actually not too complicated, it just looks that way...

Dear Sir/Madam/BadgerBuggerer:

I wish to submit my application for the post of Secretary General of the Department of Nomadic Housing and Landscape Design. I have extensive experience in such a field. I am deeply concerned that Everybody Hates Nomads, and therefore they have been denied the water fountains and topiary that they deserve. If appointed, I would invite everyone over to my tent for coffee, cucumber sandwhiches and pencil sharpening contests.
