For the night owls and late-night workers

Last year I was very much into the late night posting. I just made sure to get ahead one day early on in the process so that all of my night posts were actually super-early posts for the next day. If I finished before midnight I would just hold onto it until the morning.

In your case I would predate the post, since at the time you didn't think any better of it. But, technically that's a missed day, because for ease of definition "days" are based on the time zone of your blog, not your waking hours.

Ultimately it only matters that you're happy and writing every day, but when Fussy et al go searching for prize winners they'll be looking for each day to have one obvious post on it.

One trick is to post something at say 11:30pm and then another post just after midnight. That way you posted two times in a short amount of time, but covered two whole days. That doesn't really answer your question, but it comes in handy if you are on the computer around midnight.
