NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month

freelance writers unite!

I wanted a place where freelance writers can talk about how they are going to balance their commitments this month.

Besides NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo, we have jobs, gigs, families, friends, and multiple competing priorities. How will you handle it all?

I'm not sure yet, but I'm hoping to find other like-minded writers with whom to commiserate.

With a deadline on Friday, and a new topic to write about after today's editorial meeting, I'm not sure how I am going to get any writing done. Why do i sign up for these strange and time hogging things???

I'm really looking forward to NaBloPoMo - I've slacked on the blog thing for a while, but real itching to get back to it. This is just the motivation I needed! :)

Same here. But I'm going to try to use x365 as a prompt/ motivator if nothing else.

Wait, we're supposed to handle it all? Shit.

My freelance writing -- most recently a few items for Runner's World -- has taken a hit since I switched full-time jobs from a long train commute to a shorter drive. Suddenly the time to write dried up. It's all I can do to post every day.

I guess I'm in denial and haven't yet ceded the freelance mindset completely to the corporate shill side of me. Anyone else letting their bill-paying real job overtake their freelance work?

unfortunately, yes. i need to find better ways to manage my time and actually make time for more freelancing work, not less.

Yes, I'm guilty of this as well. Add kids and hubby to the mix and it seems I never have time to write!

Guess what we all need is a good time management system - I know I could benefit!

I am poor at time management too. I get distracted and procratinate. Right now I should be polishing an article that I due tomorrow but want in today. I haven't actually started the writing part yet and still need to make two phone calls. I really shouldn't be on the internet, but came to check for an email and stayed longer than I should. Now it is almost lunchtime!
