Citizen of the Month

“Last” - The Conclusion

“Last” - Part One Part Two William looked for his keys in the usual places, under the couch, on the kitchen table, in the side pocket of the red cardigan sweater that he wore during his long walks on Sunday dusk at the beach, where he was always the last person on Earth to watch the sun [...]

Last

William Zweig was always last.  In elementary school, his teachers always called his name last. “…and finally… William Z. Zweig.  Last but not least,” said Miss Donavan, his second grade teacher, trying to give him a boost of moral. This concern for William’s self-esteem ended quickly.   By the fifth grade, Mrs. Apple,  wanting to speed up [...]

Citizen of the Month 2008 Recap

2008 was a difficult year for me.   My personal life was chaotic and, in my opinion, my blog wasn’t that good this year.   Thanks for continuing to read Citizen of the Month.  I know there are 700 billion other blogs out there to read.   I consider your input and comments as much a part [...]

Return to Nature

In the past, I’ve made jokes about myself.    About my lack of “masculine” interests.   I don’t watch football or hockey or NASCAR.  I enjoy Broadway musicals and ABBA.  And I love chatting with the mommybloggers about their bra-shopping. But now I realize it was all an act, my true nature being hidden out of fear.  As [...]

Christmas Day Tidbits

Merry Christmas!  Peace and Joy and hopefully, good presents for all! Thank you to everyone who participated in the Holiday Concert.   The talent was amazing. My mother is now at the airport en route to Boca Raton.  She will be there until the end of March,  “trying out Florida” during the winter months.  She will be fine [...]

The First Annual Blogger Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair -- This Weekend

The meal is over. We've given thanks. We're feeling spiritual. So, what do we do the next day? We fight over parking spaces in the mall and push old women out of the way so we can get our grubby hands on the latest "Touch Me Elm… Continue

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll send you an email re: crafts, but essentially, I'll send baby booties to anyone who will pay for postage. I have an obscene yarn stash and the boots take less than an hour to make. I'd love to send boots to anyone who wants them.

Yep, I get that, but on the other hand, think of it this way - a few hundred years ago there was no way to scientifically prove the world is round. Then someone discovered something new and boom! - scientific proof. Germs, black holes, atoms, subatomic particles, quantum physics....think how recently in the history of the earth any of those things became known to or proven by science. So things like astrology or other woo-woo stuff might be a load of hooey (they really might!...I'm a believer, but perfectly willing to admit I could be fooling myself), or then again maybe the proof is all around us and science just hasn't advanced enough yet to know how to see or interpret that proof. Maybe someday natal birth charts will be as scientifically accepted as the table of elements! Something to think about... :-)
