Read, shop, read

Today, I invested in my creative growth and spent several hours reading. A wonderful way to pamper myself!

I have two Kaffe Fassett books, Glorious Knits and Patchwork, that I drool over from time to time. I haven't looked at his new books but I did recently visited his website - I love his passion for color. I saw these fabrics bundle at my local quilt store, didn't even look at the fabric, just saw his name and in a moment of weakness...

PostSecret: lazy impulse shopping - no remorse.

Creative every day: 8 of 365 done!

Now what?

I haven't opened up the fabric bundles, I'll do that tomorrow. I'm eager to see if just looking at the fabric inspires me to make something. I haven't bought fabric in a while. Eighteen fat quarters, I'm feeling a little guilty but I'll get over it.

For now:
Read some more, work Friday's NYTimes crossword and watch a half hour of Planet Earth (a gift from my oldest daughter.)

Tiburon – Oh, those early 70’s…I think I remember a few parties on some houseboats, but I’m not sure about the details. Different days!

United Kingdom – Lived in Bristol in 2000 and had the opportunity to explore all around –Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.

Venice – I visited Venice in 1969 and my

NOPQRS - to be Thankful for

Napa – Done a little wine tasting in Napa! One year we camped outside Napa with friends, sitting around the campfire drinking wine and listening to coyotes (we think) – a fun time in our lives.

Oregon – Shout out to Oregon. I lived here for thirty years. I like being “close” to everything without being in it: the mountain, the coast, the cities. The

HIJKLM - to be Thankful for

Hawaii – Originally my husband and I were suppose to honeymoon on a cruise ship but the ship, making its debut cruise, was delayed. We went to Hawaii instead. We had a lovely time. We returned to Hawaii six years later when I was pregnant with my second child.

Israel – I visited Israel in December of 1969 and I can still remember how beautiful the nighttim

ABCDEFG - to be Thankful for

I've been so lucky to have traveled that I thought I'd end the last few days by paying special attention to a few places that I am thankful to have been.

Anchorage - My parents celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with seventeen family member (children and grandchildren.) Our first stop was Anchorage, the beginning of our inland passage cruise.

Bristol - My husband and I l

Zoo - I love zoos. I admit it - even though I also feel a bit guilty about it. That's why I'm particularly thankful for zoos that have a focus on protection of endangered animals and those that make more than adequate habitats for the animals.

Zippers - My grandmother died a decade ago and I "inherited" her sewing notions. (I was the only one in the family to even goes near a sewing machine so her stuff was shipped to me.) There is a lot of lace and bias… Continue

Hi Kim. Hey, two bags of spinach is a quantity that makes perfect sense to me! It sounds easier than actually measuring.

Hi Kim,

Thanks for joining the Quilting group! I expect it to get a lot bigger before we get too far into this.

I just visited your blog and I love the creative quilts and quiltlets you've got up there, especially the door. I *really* love that door!

Hi Kim,

Welcome to Creative Bloggers! So, I see you've done this before. I'll have to ask you for tips on how to stay sane - but then again, do we really want to? Have fun!
