Seventeen years ago today, October 29th, the "Q" hired me. I worked for them for nearly 9 years. Then I moved to Massachusetts (and became a Red Sox fan... but that's another story for another day-- or you can read my other blog).

I enjoyed working for the "Q". It was a fulfilling job and I made a lot of friends. But my leaving in 1999 was a foregone conclusion when my marriage broke up. I just couldn't support 4 kids on what I got paid…

"Fall break" was such a tease!

Now, it's back to the homework and fretting about grades, and not getting any sleep. Let's add forgetting to eat because I'm too tired to the list, too, shall we?

My high school kid got three days of "Fall break". My eighth grader also got three days, but not the same three days his brother got.

I got two *pout*.
