Years and years ago I remember reading the phrase "color me sorry" somewhere. I cannot recall if it was on a greeting card, or if it was a sentence in some super-sappy-angst-filled-teen-drama-novel I was reading at the time (I did mention this was years and years ago). At 4:28pm on November 8, 2007, jen s said…: hi jenn! i skip the touristy areas of amsterdam (red light district, damrak - it's funny that most people assume i go for the drugs or other unsavory activities). i usually go in april, when spring is just getting started, so it's usually warm enough for a light jacket. then i wander up and down the canals, go to galleries, shops, and museums. i love the cafes - eating bread and cheese and drinking tea (afternoon) or beer (evening) is heaven. i'll bring a book with me, and sit outside and read and people watch and ignore email for a few days. so my reasons for loving amsterdam are pretty simple. when i return from my trips, i spend weeks researching ways to move/work there! then real life sets in and i stay in the states. so i'll check your blog and live vicariously through you! sorry for the long comment!
